Precigen Inc. is a biopharmaceutical startup/spinoff working on gene and cellular therapies. In urgent need of an online presence before their public relations team announced the venture to the world, Waqa Studios was approached to design and develop a website that would provide investors and partners with information about their work and a pipeline showing the current status of different projects.
Adaption of branding.
Precigen came to us with their branding established, so we focused on expanding and adapting it to practical digital usage, i.e. how it would appear on a website.
We proposed options with different brand compositions before settling on the final design that was presented as what we call a web style guide – a document of guidelines to follow which would be added to their corporate identity documents.
Website Strategy.
The main purpose of the website is to present potential investors and partners with the information necessary to understand what Precigen is doing and at what stage they are at with different trials. This would make the “portfolio” table a key tool. This is a sortable, filterable table showing project phases graphically – easy to update on the administrators end.
Other interesting features of the design and development include a flexible “hero” header area that would allow for both static image and video backgrounds. This was made very easy to achieve on the administor’s side.
Precigen was successfully launched at an event hosted at JP Morgan. The website launch was carefully managed to take place at the same time, ready for a wave of interest from investors.
