Our organization had outgrown our existing website, which was clunky and stale. To put it politely it was in desperate need of an overhaul.

As a rapidly growing non-profit, the number one priority for our website was scalability. Our team is very small, so the ability to update our site with the least amount of effort was a must. Almost equally important was the need to create an improved user experience.

As a community development financial institution (CDFI), Capital Plus Financial provides capital to markets identified as underserved by the community. We helped them do this by creating a brand that would appeal principally to their majority-hispanic clients in Texas and by building a bilingual website.

D.O.P.E. – The Movement

Retired police officer and law enforcement instructor Stan Campbell has personally trained over 4,000 uniformed officers and criminal justice professionals across the United States. Taken aback by the number of police encounters that escalate to the point of violence, far too often resulting in the loss of life for predominantly young black men, Stan founded an organization, a social movement, to spread knowledge to both officers and members of the public on how to de-escalate such encounters.

We created a platform to satisfy the initial aim of building up a list of supporters and relevant stakeholders within the greater public and law enforcement communities. We devised an interactive technique involving the “pledging” of support to end violent encounters, with a pledge for both audiences to sign, where signatories would need to provide an email address. This allows Stan to spread his message further as well as pick out those who might personally be able to offer something to the cause.

Stan’s movement has since been receiving funding from the SocialGood fund.
